Advances In Exterior Window Blinds
Choosing the most appropriate blinds for the exterior of a home requires some thought and consideration. An individual will want to select blinds that are appropriate for the weather conditions in their location. In addition, the exterior shade blinds must also be decorative and versatile for the home on which they are installed.
The blinds are manufactured using many different materials. A person may choose exterior sun blinds made from wood, metal, fabricated materials, or aluminum. Depending on the location of the blinds and their primary purpose, they may be designed to be decorative additions or added security for a business.
Many businesses use the blinds to cover their showroom windows. These blinds are made of heavy-duty materials, such as steel. They are often designed from pressed and stamped steel slats that have a membrane between the slats. The membrane allows the flexibility in the blind to be rolled up when it is not in use.
Many of the heavy-duty blinds include motors that allow a person more ease in opening and closing. They use a remote control device that raises and lowers the blind. In some cases an individual may have a cord that will allow them to manually raise and lower the blind. Vertical blinds usually have a slat containing a built in handle that allows the user to open and shut the blinds with ease. The blinds are built with an upper and lower frame that reinforces the strength of the blind when it is closed.
Reinforced aluminum slats are used in most doorway blinds. These blinds are lighter and easier for an individual to manipulate. They have a locking mechanism that attaches to the wall or surface on the exterior of the building. In some cases a large vertical blind will be controlled by a remote device that opens and closed the blinds using a switch or hand held control.
A person can choose from any color for their blinds. In most cases businesses will select a powder coating or a wet paint. These materials are mixed with paint retardant material that prevent graffiti from adhering to the blinds when they are closed. Many businesses are having designs or logos imprinted on the slats of the blinds. When the blinds are closed they show a seamless design or logo on the front of the building they are protecting.
Exterior venetian blinds are gaining popularity with homeowners. They provide an extra level of insulation on large windows. In addition, they can be designed and manufactured to fit any size window. This is especially important on windows that are irregular and enhance the architecture of a home.
When the blinds are being used as a decorative addition on a home or business, they are often dipped in a color coating. Aluminum blinds are often tinted during the molting process to create an even color tone in the metal. These blinds are often made to replicate bronze or other metals that create a dramatic effect when used on a business or home.
When choosing exterior venetian blinds it is important to discuss the requirements and needs of the business or home with a professional. There are many types of exterior venetian blinds available that can provide both function and decorative additions to a business or home.
What color should I paint my one story ranch house (wood siding) --for resale purposes?
I live in a neighborhood of modest one story ranch houses from the early 80s. Some have wood siding, some aluminum. Mine is wood. I live on a wooded lot. Right now it's dark brown, which I think is too dark for pictures. What's a good color to pick as far as resale is concerned? What about the trim? Thanks
!
How would a red/rust color look? I think you should keep it an earthy color since it's on a wooded lot.
Divers retrieve prehistoric wood from Lake Huron (Science Daily)
Under the cold clear waters of Lake Huron, researchers have found a five-
and-a-half foot-long, pole-shaped piece of wood that is 8,900 years old. The
wood, which is tapered and beveled on one side in a way that looks deliberate,
may provide important clues to a mysterious period in North American
prehistory.
