When Can You Judge Your Child’s Fear to be Harmful?

To make sense of what phobias are, you should in the beginning understand that it could have come from rightly healthy fears which were set to the ultimate. Children are, of course, just starting out with life, and are inexperienced with the obstacles that life can often throw people; this can cause a lot of anxiety on their part, which isn’t entirely bad providing they learn to manage it. As what humanistic therapy studies will impart you, fear is not an unhealthy thing; it’s your natural intuition for endurance and self-preservation, and it’s a good thing as long as it doesn’t run your life. Sandtray Therapy is a dynamic type of psychotherapy that lets clients express their innermost emotions by means of metaphor and symbol.

One source of anxiety is fear, and fear among children is not entirely alarming; children do expand some kinds of fear depending on their age. Babies are often afraid of strangers but they do get over this fear sooner or later; children who are unable to get past this extreme fear of strangers as they grow old tend to develop social phobia which gets worse as the fear becomes more and more unmanageable. What parents should be concerned about is if their child is unable to survive their fears as they grow older; for example, several children are so afraid of thunder, and this is normal at a specific age, but when they should be able to get past this fear once they grow older.

Children grow out of their fears, but there are times when some fears are felt more intensely than others, and this is what people may call phobia. Helping them extend by stages and go back to their safe zone, each time trying out further than before, can be more helpful than just telling your child to get over it and grow up. The fear of strangers, for instance, is normal among very young children, but when the child moves past that age group and approaches puberty while still struggling with that phobia, it can wholly slow down his or her social and emotional development.

There are many kinds of therapies that are suitable for children, such as art or play therapy. Play therapy can be an enriching experience not just for your child but for you as well; children feel more comfortable facing their phobias during play therapy because they know that it’s only having fun. Children who are fearful of the dark may play out their fear through make believe in play therapy and inch by inch, in a non-menacing environment, they may be able to face the fear and discover that there is nothing to be afraid of.

It’s true that facing one’s fears may become an elongated travel, but it’s better to face this journey with your child rather than have your child suffer it alone, or never go through it at all. As a parent, you may think that just ignoring your child’s phobia will “heal” him or her of it; nothing can be farther than the reality because the last thing that your child needs is to have somebody neglect, deride, or belittle his or her feelings. On occasion it’s truly best to seek professional help when dealing with children’s phobia; therapists are trained professionals that can give you more awareness regarding what you can do to actually help your child out of the phobia.

Like any other type of fear, the only way to help your child survive phobia is to help him or her handle it inch by inch until he or she realizes that there’s nothing to fear from it. You can’t just ignore the phobia until it goes away because it most almost certainly wouldn’t, and you can’t just shift things around in your life to adjust the phobia either because this would be dysfunctional.

i don't feel like my tray set number 6 is tight why is this?

i started set number six out of ten on friday and i don't feel like it it tight enough why is this i have invisalign

Some trays will be tighter than others, or at least this is what I have found. The weeks that I'm closest to 22 hours a day I find that I can pop the next tray in with ease and it doesn't really feel that tight. I asked my dentist and after he looked at my teeth he told me that it was because my teeth were moving perfectly and not to worry. You should talk to your dentist because only he can know, not any of us on here

Forum Frenzy: Raymond Loewy's Studebaker Avanti, Priced to Move at $80K (Core77)

A gem of a classic car turned up in the forums a few days ago, picking up on a
Jalopnik news item about designer Raymond Loewy's drool-worthy personal
Studebaker Avanti hitting the market at the Los Angeles Modern Auctions'
"Important Modern Art & Design" auction on December 11. Uninspired though the
auction title may be, Loewy's ride most certainly fits the bill; according to
the catalog:

> In 1961 in a small modernist house in Palm Springs, California, industrial
designer Raymond Loewy assembled a four-man design team to construct a clay
model of what would become the Studebaker Avanti sports car. In March,
Sherwood Egbert, the president of Studebaker, phoned Loewy from South Bend,
Indiana and asked him to design a car. Loewy insisted on working in Palm
Springs with his own team, far from the prying eyes of Detroit stylists. With
a short window of time to complete the mock-up, Loewy's team was managed by
Johnny Ebstein, "an excellent designer and organizer," according to Loewy.
They conserved every minute, and fifteen days later, Loewy flew to South Bend
to begin work on the full-scale mock-up.

Remembering this whirlwind process, Loewy writes, "It was developed so
efficiently; ...
