Murder Mystery Dinner Will Entertain
You're enjoying a meal. Then a nearby table erupts. Two customers appear to be arguing. The argument turns to shoving. One man falls to the floor. He rises, grabs a knife and stabs the man through the heart. Hold on, there may be more to this than meets the eye says a policeman who rushes in. The dead man was shot dead, the stabbing came after. Did a gun fire? The murder mystery dinner is now in full swing.
Mystery Dinner Theatre has been around a long time. More cozy locations often host these shows, along with a meal. People love to eat and to try to solve a mystery. Once the crime has been committed they love to put their brains to use. These mysteries can take on many different forms. One is a simple interactive play where the actors talk to the patrons but stick to a general story in which one of the actors' roles is to solve the mystery. A second form is one in which guests try to solve the case. These can become very complex.
These are popular as parties, and there are even entire cruises dedicated to them. They've leaked into popular culture. It's been in movies and on television. A group gathered at a spooky house die one by one in horrible ways. There's a comedy version titled Murder by Death. In other versions, a mystery dinner is taking place when someone is really murdered. In an episode of the detective show “Monk,” the lead character has been banned from a murder mystery weekend bed and breakfast because he solved the murder in three minutes, thus ruining the weekend and losing the establishment a lot of money.
Many of these dinners take place at locations associated with death . Many mystery dinner theaters claim spooky happenings in their theater. It's probably faked, but still fun. Patrons are willing to suspend disbelief enough to enjoy themselves, even if in the real world they wouldn't believe the tall tales.
A murder mystery dinner is enjoyable. They're not just for adults. Kids love a challenge and a show. Consider it for your next family outing.
Can any one tell me what is a Pie chest?
I am looking for a hoosier cupboard for my kitchen or something like that. I can across a tall chest that they called it a Painted pie chest. It had to glass doors on top with 6 small drawers under that going across the with of the cabnet then 3 larger drawers under that on top of each other. why do they call it a pie chest?
You are showing your age, too young to remember a pie chest.
Where I came from we called them a pie safe. Which was a place to put your pies to keep them safe from the flies. You see (or at used to see) the same thing in dinners were the pies were in a stacked glass case where you picked out the piece you wanted.
