Updating Rooms With A Contemporary Interior Design Idea
As you look around your home, you might think you need a change. Sometimes change isn't simple if you are not good at designs, but there are plenty of resources on the internet and in magazines to assist. A modern design idea will work well for a home that hasn't been touched in a long time. Contemporary accessories can be found everywhere, making a modern interior design a snap. The accessories you find are generally easy to recreate if you don't want to spend much.
Clean And Bold
Clean lines and bold colors are the backbone to any contemporary interior design idea. There is very little detail work in the woodworking of the furniture. Instead using metal or acrylic furniture would be perfectly acceptable, as is the new blow-up furniture. Monochromatic and bright colors are both found in contemporary interior design ideas. Solid color leather furniture is a good place to start with a contemporary interior design idea. Following with black, red or tan leather is a fantastic look. White or black accessories will look perfect with any of these three colors. Symmetrical and angular tables and coffee table accents the other furniture nicely. These tables can be either monochromatic or the opposite color of the furniture. To further accent the room you should use large, contemporary artwork and tall floor lamps. Putting similar table lamps in the room will also improve the look of the room. A large textured rug should also be placed in the room. A contemporary interior design idea has nearly limitless possibilities. Any free interior design idea will work in this modern style, as well. If you have an accessory that you love and don't feel it has a modern feel, remember, it's your abode and you are the ruler of your castle and if you cherish it, then it works.
Focal Point
Lots of people have a beautiful custom area rug that they use for their contemporary interior design idea. Starting with the rug is a fantastic idea. A room can be built around a beautiful rug. They are sculpted and carved with great care. You can take a picture or an idea to one of these rug craftsman and they will duplicate the design into the rug. These rug craftsmen are exceptional artists. One can always start with one of these rugs and pull ideas into their rooms for a contemporary feel.
What color should I paint my room?
I am redoing the style of my room & plan to paint my walls. My walls are a light/lavender purple. The trim & doors are white. I painted it purple a couple years ago and didn't realize the limitations it created for the style of my room. I'm thinking about painting it white, but I feel like that's too boring. The plus to this is that I can add whatever colors I want. So, what color do you think I should paint my room? Make sure it's a color that goes well with other colors, cause I am a very colorful person & I change my style a lot. A picture of a color would be awesome

This is a difficult one !
If your painting it white you have to have a great contrast in your furnishings to make it work. The best idea is to take a colour from the furnishings your using then choose a contrasting colour for the walls. If your painting the door trims etc then white is the standard but you could always go 2 or 3 shades lighter from the wall colour to match it all in.
