building my custom vivarium, need some help..?
Ok, well i started a project that ive wanted to start for a long time. I bought an old hutch/china cabinet and im converting the top into 2 animal enclosures. Well as of now i have a bearded dragon, hes probably about 9 in tail to snout. Now my poblem is lighting, i have a small clamp lamp in there, and im going to screen it off so he cant sit on it and fry himself, but i only have room for the one light. My first question is, would a heating pad (uth) be suitable for night time, or dose he really need a basking night light? I am also putting in a floresent tube for the uvb light, moutend to the top of the envlosure. My next question, Im thinking of getting a corn or milk snake, which is a better starter snake? i was thinking the corn because it only gets to 4 foot. also, do snakes need a uvb light like my dragon dose? or do they just need the light as a heat source? and if you could describe the ideal setup for one of these snakes it would be great.
corn snake would be better. they dont need any lights at all, just a heating pad.
