Conquering The Obstacles You Face When You Consider Apartment Gardening
Do you think that you can't plant and grow your own garden simply because you live in an apartment? Thinking this way has caused a lot of people to leave their apartments and relocate into a dwelling that has space outdoors for a garden. Some apartment dwellers hide their disappointment by buying a houseplant or two and putting them here and there in their apartment.
Well, the good news is that it is very doable to have a great garden even in a small apartment. We'll teach you some tips that will help you in this article!
If you're in the market for a new apartment or condo, narrow your search to those that have either a balcony or a patio. Even more important is to check and make sure the patio or balcony faces the sunlight. Perhaps you intend to grow mainly plants that do well in shady, cool areas; however, your plants will grow better if they can be in direct sunshine a little while each day. If this isn't an option, don't lose hope. There are ways to simulate sunlight that you will learn about when you do your homework. If there is any way possible, however, let your plants bask in direct, full sunlight for part of the day. My ultrasound technician co-worker who lives at an apartment owns a container garden using less money yet still, appear really nice. Also, it's not mandatory to spend large sums of money on fancy, expensive pots and containers. Any type of container sill is sufficient. You have more important things to spend your hard earned money on. Use the money to buy some new clothes or spring for a night on the town. If you keep your eyes open, you can find a lot of different types of containers on sale. When you are shopping around for inexpensive containers at the thrift shops and at garage sales, don't overlook items that could be converted into interesting containers, such as fancy bowls or hammered brass ice buckets. With the money you save on containers, you can invest in organic or old-fashioned seeds that haven't been "engineered" or maybe that special flower plant you've always loved. I’m going to share certain techniques about container gardening from my close friends who are now working in several ultrasound sonography schools.
Do some research on square foot gardening. By using square foot gardening, you rely on compost to establish an organic garden. This is a good strategy for a couple of reasons. It gives you a better chance of growing your own organic garden in a small amount of space. It helps you save money because you can start your own composting bin and then use the compost you come up with yourself. Since you'll only need small amounts of compost, you can hook up with a compost system that is compact. You will also have less kitchen garbage to dispose of, so you are being environmentally savvy. Gardening is what I really like the most despite the fact that I used way too much of my ultrasound technician salary on it.
Just because you live in an apartment does not mean that you have to give up on the idea of having a garden of your very own. There are all sorts of ways to plant and grow things when you live in an apartment or condo style setting-even if you do not have balcony space to devote to such things. Do your research, fire up your creativity, talk to the local experts, and that's about all you need to have a fantastic garden right in your own apartment.
Besides the general shortage, where has ALL the unprimed 380ACP brass disappeared to?
Yes, there's a shortage of ammo, but generally not of components for handloading. EXCEPT for 380ACP! Clerks at MidwayUSA were surprised to see that there were all empty 380ACP bulk brass bins there when I called them on the phone. Same with other suppliers. Should we repeatedly call all mffrs and suppliers requesting 380ACP bulk brass supplies, or quietly not add to panic/opportunist hoarding? Some other plan? Ideas, thoughts, anyone?
Thanks Fatefinger, for the info about the brief mfg season on 380! That and the surge mentioned also account for the empty 380 brass bins next to full bins of other kinds of brass everywhere! And now it emerges that a public call-in to the brass mffrs to make a double run this year makes sense. I say we all lobby on the phones for it! Regards, Larry.
Well people buy it all up faster than its made. And on top of that it is the nature of this caliber.
.380 is not run on there own machines. Producers make .380 on their 9mm machines. The TOTAL supply of ALL .380 in this country is made only 2-3 months of the year in limited quantities as before it was not really a much used or demanded caliber. Then when everyone decided to get it the supply ran dry and what you can get is price gouged. It's like what cheaperthandirt does with their ammo.
.380 will become easier to find by the end of the year when the majority of the calibers production is done. But you still need to call around.
