Rower looking to not have to cut weight every 2 weeks?
I row for my college (we are a club team) and recently I've had to cut an unhealthy amount of weight (around 15 pounds) to get down to the right weight for a race we have coming up. To lose the weight, I've just been drinking large amounts of water and eating salad minus any topping or dressing. It is no fun. I hate having to cut weight like this and I'm in pretty good condition myself so my question is: after this race that I have coming up, what can I do so that my weight doesn't balloon back to where it was before?
Count the amount of calories you were eating. Then as the days go by gradually increase that intake by 50-100 calories every day. This will help your metabolism to not go all crazy.
